There are lots of challenges going on over at MScraps every month and with participation in each challenge you get points which can be redeemed for goodies at MScraps shop.

One of the challenges is a Typography Challenge. This month's February 1st - 29th: Typography Challenge 17 is to make a layout featuring the cheeriest font you can find.

I did a layout with Amy Stoffel's So Silly kit and using CK Aire font.

CK Aire feels cheery to me because it's round, fat and curly, and makes me think of floaty airy fun. Perfect for a kitty thought-balloon!

Third Canvas: Delight

Did another canvas following Christy Tomlinson's Scarlet Lime Mixed Media Tutorial "Love is in the air" Part 1 and Part 2. I mixed in a lot more of my own preferences in this one, didn't follow exactly step-by-step. The colours are brighter in this, I can't get an accurate photo mainly because I'm lazy and taking the photos in yellow light and need to adjust it in Gimp.

This afternoon, I decided to follow Christy Tomlinson's Christmas Canvas Tutorial exactly, step-by-step, with no deviation except for the materials, which I substituted with whatever I had on hand, and created a copy of her Christmas Canvas.

Loved the outcome. I should copy more often! It makes me look so clever and artistic, even when I'm not really. I think I'm going to do a piece each of her tutorials and end up with a set of pretty canvases to hang on my walls.

DIY Christmas Decorations

Another Cat Layout

I have a new cat in my house. She is my second cat and I'm not sure if she's staying or whether I'm just fostering her back to health for the moment. The reason being my kitten is not getting along well with her. They are both hissing at each other and just last night she batted at him. I do love her so, she comes across so sad and quiet. She's probably feeling misunderstood. We are keeping them in separate rooms for the moment but our house is so small, so kitten wants to come out and play every once in a while and we have no where else to put her.

I made a layout about her. Personally I hope I can keep her because she is so pretty.

I'm trying to include more journaling in my pages, either quotes or my own words. I'm so bad at that, always putting it off, but I know I should do it.

This week's MScraps post is late because I was so slow in making my layouts I was unable to complete them by Friday.

I'm feeling off-colour this week, probably a re-attack of the flu because I was so lethargic after work every day and I'm still coughing and sneezing. I hope next week will be better.
