Summer of Colour: Red
Did this last night for Summer of Colour: Red theme. I was feeling upset about something and I like it was reflected in this. What an appropriate colour theme for my mood.
The son thinks it's too goth and satanic. I have no idea what he's talking about. Isn't it really nice, in an ugly way? The scanner makes it look a bit flat, but there's bunch of layering in it I can assure you. I'm also unable to make the scanner show the drips from my india and acrylic inks. Only the alcohol ink drips are showing up well, makes the piece look "spotty" if you know what I mean. It's not like that in real life at all.

I love this! It's expressive. You can feel the energy of it. And I love the drips as if the heart is bleeding. Amazing! Satanic? Really? :)))
ReplyDeleteI think it is really expressive as well, sad maybe, but can't see where satanic comes from.

ReplyDeleteThe energy certainly comes through. If the son thinks it is goth - so be it LOL At least you are reaching him through his eyes!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how our art can be directly influenced by our life? Your big, bold red is just stunning - and a really impressive spread. I especially love the swirly lines coming out of the top. Thank you for sharing your heart with us ;) xo
ReplyDeleteA very emotional piece...a broken heart..so sad...
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling happier today x
Art is all about perception and what each person sees or feels in a piece is what's true to them. If he sees Satanic, that's okay. I see a little sadness and a lot of skill. Keep creating from your heart... Love the layers!
ReplyDeleteRed is the colour of blood and passion, it's evident in these pages. I think it's beautiful, goth maybe what's wrong with that, sometimes we all feel like that huh? :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is sooo gorgeous, and so sad. Really powerful! ...and all your scrap pages and incredible. and Emma Watson is so pretty!
