"Summer of Colour" - Green Piece #2

My second piece using green for the week 20th to Sunday the 26th. Included Citron to get "bonus points" and it turned out a really pleasing colour combination. I was floundering about for some nice thoughtful things to say in this piece and ended up using a Buddhist quote but I somehow feel this piece is so contrived. Sigh. Part of my "Bad Art Journaling Week" I suppose.

Background using Claudine Hellmuth's acrylic paints,
stencilling with Lyra pastel chalk sticks
and shading with Caran D'ache Neocolor 1.

Thanks for looking!!

  5. I really struggled with green this week too. When I saw the prompt I thought I was good to go - and it just stalled.

This is a great piece. Not bad journaling art whatever at all. I really dig it.

  16. The background is intriguing - love the text peeking through. The girl's pose fits the quote perfectly and I don't see contrived, I see thought provoking. Keeping it all green takes the emphasis away from the details and puts it on the quote....
